Hannah Greely (b. 1979 in Dickson, TN, lives and works in Los Angeles, CA) creates sculptures and drawings that explore surrealistic representations of contemporary life. Constructed by hand with simple materials, her work depicts common objects in colorfully imaginative scenarios, evoking uncanny emotions with an ominous sense of humor. Recent solo exhibitions include those held at Parker Gallery, Los Angeles (2017 and 2019) and Cleopatra’s, New York (2016). Her work has also been included in numerous group exhibitions worldwide, including the 50th Venice Biennale organized by Francesco Bonami in 2003, and the 2006 and 2010 editions of the Whitney Biennial. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; UCLA Hammer Museum; and Astrup-Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Oslo, Norway.
