Inquire CV

Karin Gulbran works primarily in ceramics with extensive narrative scenes painted in glaze. She has developed a vocabulary grounded in investigating and conveying her everlasting interest for all things connected to the realm of the natural world. Each of Gulbran’s works carries the viewer into the artist’s personal expressionistic lexicon that is formed intuitively and emotionally through the creative process. Organic forms provide the basis of inspiration for which the artist’s practice predominantly deals with, without being a literal representation or didactic interpretation of nature. Feeling is conveyed within Gulbran’s oeuvre through the use of sensual glazed surfaces, alternately smooth and rough, matte and glossy.
